Telefriars

The Telefriars is the group of priests that deliver messages between and within the colonies in the Outer Belt. They are a sub order of the Heliolite Church and are under the jurisdiction of the Bishop of Europa. Each colony has an Arch Telefriar that organizes and oversees the Telefriars on his world. They are seen as the backbone of the Outer Belt as their order keeps communication lines open. Their order is protected on all the worlds and to harm or kill a Telefriar is a serious crime, punishable by death. The first Telefriar was considered Paul, the missionary who helped spread Heliolism from Europa to the rest of the Outer Belt. While the Telefriars are considered a politically neutral organization, they have at times used their position as the messenger system of the Outer Belt to gain influence for the Arch Bishop. While they claim political neutrality they do not obfuscate the fact that they are a religious order and that their allegiance is to their Creator and their Church.
