The Fifth Great Awakening
Also known as: The Awakening
2101 – 2106
The Fifth Great Awakening was a Christian revival movement that proceeded and lead to the War of Religion and conflict over machine intelligence. The movement started in the American heartland where economic inequality and sectarian violence was already widespread. The movement's leader, Ned Ludd, was able to grow a localized religious flourishing in Ohio to a massive, multi-continent rebellion against the machine intelligence technocrats. The Awakening ended in 2106 with Ludd's assassination and the defeat of the Unified Front militias. The Fifth Great Awakening is often considered the end of the First Epoch and the Start of the Second Epoch as classical human religion was outlaws and would not be seen again for over a century.
